I made the bold move today to change the web address of My Light Magazine!  We’re no longer at the Tripod address. We now have our own at http://mylightmagazine.com. Below is the press release for more information. We thought it was better to do the change now than after the debut issue.

MY LIGHT MAGAZINE HAS MOVED

PENNSYLVANIA (July 25, 2008 ) –   The new Catholic E-Zine for children, My Light Magazine, just announced they have moved their website. Coming just days before the launch of the debut issue, Editor Jennifer Gladen knows its a drastic move. “I realize this is sudden, but we at My Light felt owning our own domain would work better. It also has given us more freedom, which will make the magazine better for everyone.”

The address has changed to http://mylightmagazine.com. Complete with their official logo, designed by illustrator Samantha Bell, the new website is already hard at work. Information has been updated as well as contact information.

WINNERS CHOSEN FOR MY LIGHT MAGAZINE’S ILLUSTRATION CONTEST

PENNSYLVANIA (July 12, 2008 ) –   The illustration contest for the cover of My Light Magazine’s debut issue has come to a close. Editor and founder Jennifer Gladen announced the winners this afternoon. “All of the entries were beautifully done. It was a hard choice.” However, after extending the deadline one week, time was running out. She needed to make a choice.

Illustrator Dorothy McPartland won second place with her piece titled “Let Your Light Shine” and will become the cover of the July 2009 issue.

The first place winner was Illustrator Samantha Bell with her artwork of Jesus and a child and it will appear as the cover of the August debut issue.  

Ms. Gladen is excited about naming the contest’s winners. “Everyone did a wonderful job. Congratulations to our winners and all our entrants. “

My Light is a free online Catholic magazine for children. “The mission is to help children better understand their faith and grow closer to God,” Editor Jennifer Gladen said. The magazine includes stories, articles, crafts, Bible stories and poems.

The deadline for our illustration contest is today, July 1st. However, we’re extending it until July 7th and still accepting entries. I know you’re all working hard and it will be a tough choice. I’ve been impressed with the quality our illustrators have shown us thus far. Way to go everybody! I can’t wait to see your entries.

The launch of My Light Magazine is one month away and we are EXCITED! We can’t wait to share all the great stories, articles, poems, illustrations and more with you. We still have a ton of work to do, but it is lookin’ good! We’ll see you all soon!
